MEET OUR PRO
Vu Nguyen
Vu is a 5.0 Pickleball player and competes at a level such that he is a sponsored player. He is Professionally certified to teach Pickleball through the Professional Pickleball Registry. He placed 3rd in the 2021 Margaritaville USA Pickleball National Championships
He grew up in Augusta, GA, and played junior tennis here as well. He attended The University of Georgia where he received his degree in Sports and Exercise Science. Vu has been coaching tennis professionally since 2004. Throughout his coaching career, Vu has overseen junior programs at some of the most successful tennis facilities in the Southeast.
Vu has also worked as a national QuickStart trainer for the USTA, whose mission was to educate coaches around the nation on developing 10 and Under Players. While doing so he became the youngest teaching professional in the country to be selected for this position. His teaching style has allowed him great diversity in the level of player he teaches. While he currently teaches most of the entry-level programs at West Lake, he also acts as the primary coach for several of our juniors with sectional rankings and has trained players who currently play college tennis.
Vu is a USPTA Elite Professional and also has the Professional designation through the PTR.
